Challenge Ladder

The purpose of the Challenge-Ladder is to compete for a favorable seeding into the annual TowerTennis tournament.

Tennis Ladder rules:

1. A time and place for the match should be scheduled that is agreeable to all players. If agreement can't be reached, the challenged player or team may choose the place to play. Court reservations, if needed, are the challenger's responsibility. Any court costs should be shared equally.
2. The challenger will provide new balls.
3. A match suspended due to weather or darkness should be completed as soon as possible. It should resume at exactly the same point where it was suspended; be sure to agree on that and, if possible, a continuation date before you leave. The suspended match is reported as being played on the date it is completed.
4. Regular scoring is the norm, but no-ad scoring, or sudden-death tie-breakers may be used if players agree before starting the effected portion of the match. The winner is the best of three sets.
5. Defaults
a.
No Show: If any player is late by more than 30 minutes that player or his team will be deemed a "No Show" and will forfeit the match. In the case of a default no individual or team will move up on the ladder, but a defaulting individual or team that was above their opponents will move down to the position below them on the ladder. Report it as a "no-show".
b. Withdrawal: Once a match has begun, if a single player or team cannot continue, for any reason, the player or team must default This is a win for their opponents and a loss for them. It counts as a match for both players / teams.

CHALLENGES

1. You may only challenge up tree spots. You move up the ladder by challenging and winning over anyone within three spots higher up the ladder.  This forces play between individuals/teams who may not otherwise match up.
2. If you play a ladder opponent in any other venue, such as the TowerTennis Tournament or regular practice matches, you may count the match as a ladder match as long as both players/teams agree to do so.
4. All challenges must be played and reported before a new challenge can be made. If you feel someone is being evasive about accepting a match or is persistently unavailable, it is your responsibility to bring it to the attention of TowerTennis Administration. That person will be contacted and if the problem is not corrected, they will be moved down below you.

REPORTING

If you will have access to the internet within 24 hours please report scores via the web site.  ("Go to Report a Score" button on the left of the page. Then follow the easy instructions.)

1. Matches must be reported within 24 hours. If reported late, the winner (who is responsible for reporting) will not move up.
2. The winner should report the match (Date, Winner, Loser, Score).

1. All awards will be presented at the annual awards ceremony normally scheduled in October.
2. Prizes will be awarded for the 1st and 2nd place in the Annual TowerTennis Tournament, and 1st place for Fantasy TowerTennis.
3. There may also be recognition of significant contributions to TowerTennis.
